# Who you gonna call? Your radiation protection hotline supported by our dose management system

Radiation protection questions arise every day in clinical practice.

In this webinar, Qaelum and experts from **University Hospitals Leuven** will introduce the **Radiation Protection Hotline**: a support service led by medical physicists and designed to address practical, real-world questions from radiologists, technologists, and dose management system users.

During this session, we will discuss topics such as:

- **Accidental or unintended exposures**
     How to assess radiation dose, manage and communicate DOSE notifications in line with legal requirements.
- **Investigating deviating dose values**
     When radiologists raise concerns about unexpected dose levels, what could have gone wrong—and how can the situation be improved?
- **Protocol adjustments and optimization strategies**
     Practical guidance to improve system performance while maintaining image quality and patient safety.

**Speakers**

**Prof. Hilde Bosmans**
 Professor of Medical Physics, KU Leuven
 Head of Medical Physics, Radiology Department, University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium

Prof. Bosmans specializes in optimizing image quality and radiation dose for both classical and emerging X-ray and CT systems.

**MSc. Joke Binst**
 Medical Physics Expert, University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium

Joke Binst works across radiology to optimize imaging workflows, ensure high-quality dosimetry and quality assurance, and support the introduction of new imaging technologies. She collaborates closely with clinical teams and mentors junior physicists, contributing to the development of future experts in the field.
