Patient dose optimization in the capital region of Denmark

November 09, 2017

Our Head of Training Evgenia Boldyreva visited last week Region Hovedstaden in Denmark, their biggest hospital group, which performs more than 1 million of studies a year. Region H was recently equipped with our patient dose management system DOSE in their ten facilities. This solution will assist the hospitals to minimize the dangers of ionizing radiation and to work towards a more patient safe and efficient environment.

Qaelum is proud to announce that our patient dose management system DOSE has been recently installed in Region H in Denmark in collaboration with our trusted Agfa HealthCare partner. Region H is a hospital group consisting of ten hospitals which performs more than 1 million studies/year. From now on, all the hospitals have the necessary equipment to start dose reduction, without sacrificing quality imaging, and optimization in an automated and efficient way.

After the installation phase, a profound training naturally followed to provide users with all the specific product information and needed configuration for the improvement of the patient dosimetry. This is why last week Evgenia Boldyreva visited Region H. During three days, medical physicists from the whole region came together for a complete training on our software solution DOSE. Evgenia provided the users in the region with an onsite training of the solution showing them how radiology departments can provide high-quality radiology services by promoting continuous quality improvement concerning patient dosimetry, in line with European standards and regulations.

As Region H is fully equipped and trained now on how to use our patient dose management system DOSE, the hospitals can now focus on what matters the most in radiology departments: patient safety and improved efficiency and quality.

With DOSE, processes can be more easily optimized, communication or justification problems will be detected faster as well as mistakes of human or technological nature, teamwork will be enhanced, and last but not least, patient safety will be ensured. Briefly, higher quality levels are now lying within reach.

We are happy to welcome Region H as a customer, and we are looking forward to hearing more about their first experiences with DOSE and the impact it has on their working environment.
